Keeping our leaflets up-to-date

June 5, 2019

Medicines for Children leaflets are used by parents all over the world as a source of reliable and up-to-date medicines advice. In line with NHS England’s Information Standard, we aim to review each medicines leaflet every 3 years. With more than 200 leaflets on our website, this is a never-ending task!

Each leaflet is checked by an expert in children’s medicines and a member of our project team, to make sure that the information is still correct. The most common changes found during the review process are very minor and usually only concern the availability of different dosages or types of medicines (e.g. tablets, capsules, liquid medicine).

The regular review cycle means that our users can be confident that our medicines information leaflets provide practical and reliable advice that they can rely on.

We are extremely grateful to our reviewers for their on-going work on the review process. If you are a health professional who has experience in prescribing paediatric medicines, or a parent/carer who would like to be involved with checking the language used on our medicines leaflets, please get in touch with the Medicines for Children team on medicines.leaflets@rcpch.ac.uk.
