Introducing our new QR code posters

We have developed a series of posters displaying QR codes for quick access to our medicines information – the first of these posters are available to download now.

October 13, 2022

QR codes allow quick access to online information using a smart phone camera or a scanning app (free from app stores). When the QR code is scanned, the linked information is downloaded. This means the information is readily to hand and doesn’t need to be printed out.

We have developed six posters displaying QR codes for medicines commonly prescribed to children or for general advice. These posters are designed to help share our information in certain settings. The current six posters are grouped according to medical condition or clinical setting and are available to download towards the end of this page (or you can view them online by clicking the link text below):

[Update – since this news article was first published, more QR code posters have been developed. The full series is available to download here: QR code posters – Medicines For Children]

How to use these posters

  • We envisage health professionals displaying these posters where parents and carers will see them, or using them during consultations to share information. Parents and carers can scan the QR code for the medicine which their child has been prescribed.
  • Parents and carers may use the QR codes to share information with school and other people who care for their child.
  • The “General advice about children’s medicines” QR code poster can be put up in youth centres, nurseries, schools and health centres.

What posters would you like to see?

We can create posters covering medicines for other conditions and situations, and with any organisation’s logo included on the poster. If you are working with children and would like to use QR codes to improve access to our medicines information, please contact the team at medicines.leaflets@rcpch.ac.uk
