About usThis website provides information leaflets specifically about the use of medicines in children. They have been written for parents and carers but are also suitable for older children. Every medicines is supplied with a ‘patient information leaflet’, which is written by the pharmaceutical company. However, these leaflets are often written about the use of the medicine by adults. The information provide is often complex. It may not always be relevant to children, and it may not answer all your questions about the medicine and your child. We therefore set out to produce easily understandable information leaflets for parents and carers, that provide a useful set of practical information. The leaflets have been written by paediatricians (doctors who specialise in children) and pharmacists with the help of a professional medical editor. They have also been reviewed by parents. These leaflets have been written to compliment the information given to your by your doctor and pharmacist. If you are in any doubt, please consult your doctor or pharmacist. It is important that you follow your doctor’s instructions. We will continue to add leaflets about other conditions and medicines relevant to children.
These leaflets have been developed under a joint initiative by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacists group (NPPG) and WellChild. |
